Northern California luthier, Hank Mauel. Here you can find information about the
many guitar shapes and models he builds and the available options for each.
Instruments
Every instrument is made from the highest quality traditional tone woods,
alternate tone woods, premium
soundboards, beautiful inlays of shell and wood, and all finished in high
gloss lacquer. Top braces are scalloped and incorporate an advanced
x-brace to enhance the clear, ringing sound of every note and chord while
developing outstanding volume and projection. All construction practices
ensure that the full character of each instrument will be realized.
The instruments featured on the following pages include the Parlor, OM,
deep-bodied OM, 000 12 fret, Small Jumbo and Dreadnought body styles. Additionally, you
may order some of the "long- time standard model designations"
such as 0, 00, Grand Concert, Grand Auditorium, 12 fret Dreadnought and
others. Custom body designs are enthusiastically accepted.

Part of the excitement of purchasing a custom guitar is choosing the
wood that will be used in that specific instrument. Every customer is
encouraged to visit the shop, discuss what they want, and
select the very piece of wood to be used. The wide variety of woods
available offer many beautiful combinations for the body and soundboard --
far beyond what is available ‘off-the-rack’ in music
stores.
